Mom's Lion House Sweet hot Cooked Mustard
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup dry mustard (whisk sugar and mustard together in sauce pan
3 eggs well beaten and then add to the above
2/3 cup white vinegar
Cook over low heat stirring until thickened...cool spoon into gift
container or refrigerate.

I double the recipe and it gives me a little over 2 pints. Buy your powdered mustard in the bulk foods.. I buy it by the crate..You will love this on sandwiches and try it in potatoe salad

Wheat Bread
By Brenda Godfrey
This is my favorite wheat bread Recipe( Jan)

1 2 Tbsp Yeast 3 C. Potato buds

2 2 Cups Warm Water 2 tsp salt

2 Tbsp Honey 2 Tbsp melted shortening

2/3 Cup Instant Dry Milk 4 Cups Whole Wheat Flour

2 B 2 2 Cups white flour

Soften yeast in warm water with honey. As it becomes active, add

the instant dry milk and potato buds. When they soften, add the whole

wheat flour, salt and shortening. Mix until well blended. Add 2 cups

white flour and turn out on a flat surface. Knead until the dough is smooth

and elastic. Add the additional 2 C white flour if needed to keep the dough

from being too sticky to handle. Shape into a ball and let rise until double

in bulk. Punch down. Let rise again until double. Cut dough into two

portions and shape loaves. Let rise about 20 minutes in the pans while

oven is preheating. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Turn out on a rack

to cool.

Crab and Pasta Salad
Jan

1 package fake crab
8 cups of dry 3 color rotini pasta
1/2 tsp... to taste of season all
1 can of olives chopped
8 boiled eggs chopped
Dressing:
2 cup Best foods mayonnaise
4Tbl white vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
Vidalia onion salad dressing from Sam's
2 Tbl of My Mom's Mustard (see in this group...Lion house recipe)
after I make the basic dressing I add whatever I want taste wise of the vidalia dressing. If I buy the pasta from Sam's it has a heavier texture and needs all the dressing. It is a higher quality noodle than the bulk rotini at Winco. The salad I made that night was out of the Winco noodles . Just know you will need more dressing because I think the Sam's noodles are larger and thicker.
